I was born in Albany California and migrated to San Diego in 1991 to attend San Diego State University. After graduating with a degree in Political Science I fell into the advertising profession and went to work for a large, Chicago based event marketing firm whose clients included Budweiser & Philip Morris. Over the years I ran several different marketing programs for them in San Diego and along the entire West Coast.
Shortly after purchasing my first home in Clairemont in 1999 I caught the renovation bug. Remodeling my house quickly became one of my favorite hobbies. In 2004 I had an epiphany. If I was going to pursue a career in sales & marketing, it should be for a product that I was passionate about such as houses. I earned my real estate sales license in 2005 and then in 2008 I passed the brokers exam and opened my own company- Leon Dienes & Associates.
Although I’ve sold over 400 homes over the years and consistently rank among the top 1% of all San Diego Agents, the thing I’m most proud of are the cards, letters, reviews and referrals I’ve received from my past clients. Many of whom have become dear friends. 2018 was the twelfth year in a row that I was included in San Diego Magazine as one of their Five Star Agents, an honor they bestow on only 3% of the Realtors in the area.
My listings consistently sell for the absolute most the market will allow. There are no silver bullets in this business. My ability to sell each clients home for top dollar comes from experience, skill, hard work and motivation. It truly matters to me that I sell each and every one of my listings for top dollar. I’ve also found that a little empathy goes a long way. Selling a home can be extremely stressful and my goal is to make the process as comfortable as possible for my clients. Please don’t just take my word for it though. I’d be happy to print out a list of my recently sold properties and provide you with the contact info from my past clients who would love to talk to you!
When representing a Buyer I have three priorities: Find my clients their dream home, negotiate a terrific deal and make each client feel as though they are my only client. In this very challenging market, experience and reputation matter. I am very often able to get my clients offers accepted when other agents cannot. How do I achieve this? Well, having strong relationships in the realtor community certainly helps. Although I’m known as a tough negotiator, I also have a reputation among other San Diego Realtors for being fair, honest and pleasant to deal with. In a multiple offer situation which is very common these days, sellers will frequently defer to their agents advice regarding which offer to choose. My reputation among other agents has helped several of my clients get their offer accepted.
I hope I have a chance to meet you and earn your business!
